Kaslo rocks!
Think about it: we host an annual summer music festival (Kaslo Jazz Etc.) ranked as one of the top-ten outdoor music experiences in North America in a recent article in USA Today.
We regularly bring in fabulous acts to the Langham, enjoy great live shows at intimate spots like the Blue Belle Bistro and the Fisherman's Pub, and take in class classical and popular musical acts at venues ranging from St. Andrew's United Church to JV Humphries School.
But we don't just listen to music -- we make it, too!
Which is the reason we included a Music section in kaslo. org. This is intended as a place where local musicians can strut their stuff for the home crowd. Myspace and Sonicbids are all well and good (I use 'em -- check out www.myspace.com/rgmorse, or www.sonicbids.com/rgmorse), but why not also have a place "closer to home," a place where we can share what we're up to, musically, in a truly Kaslovian setting?
So, to get the ball rolling, here's a new tune of mine, produced by Edmonton Wunderkind Tomas Brabec. I hope by the end of the summer this section will be full of original music - could a compilation CD be far behind?!
